On 25th June 2020, Dr. Surbhi, conducted a session with frontline health workers, guiding them about how they can maintain menstrual health and hygiene while working. The session was organized by Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council and SBMG, Jharkhand. They organized the session with two different groups of health workers. The second similar session was held on 17th June 2020.
An online session was organized with the Institute of Development Support for Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council, Jharkhand. In the session, Dr. Surbhi Singh went on to explain the science behind periods, the normal, abnormal and alarming aspects of bleeding. She guided them how they can maintain menstrual health and hygiene while working. Dr. Singh introduced to them the unique formula of the 5-P Pouch that ensures confidence and hygiene during periods and also debunked the myths and taboos attached with menstruation.
On the 16th of January 2019 under the campaign Beti Bacho Beti Padhao workshops were conducted for Anganwadi and Asha workers to discuss about menstruation, menstrual hy-giene and how to maintain it, menstrual disorders and how to maintain it, the importance of diet. Women aged 30-70 years sat with curiosity in the small hall. The Sachhi Saheli team arrived allong with Dr. Surbhi Singh and started setting up for the session while the partici- pants who were to observe the session took their places in the room. Dr.Surbhi Singh was given a warm welcome and then she started addressing her concerns. People there were quite enthusiastic to learn about periods, they actively participated and asked their queries. They promised that they will implement this knowledge and help bring about a positive change in the society. And when, we left every one had a smile on their faces and a sigh of relief. And this, is what we work for
Dr. Surbhi Singh on the 2nd of March , for the lawyers and judges to disseminate the right knowledge taking menstruation.
In the year 2018-19, Sachi Saheli in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu launched a program called Umang in collaboration with the ‘Directorate of Medical Health and Services’, to create awareness among various stakeholders on menstrual health and hygiene.
It was a mass awareness program that sensitized around 2500 Auxillary Nurse Midwives, ASHA and Anganwadi workers.
