Keeping in mind the need to talk about sensitive issues like menstruation, child sexual abuse in a state like Haryana, a proposal was submitted to Haryana School PariyojnaParishad. After a lot of reviewing of proposals, finally Sachhi Saheli signed a memorandum of understanding with Haryana School Shiksha PariyojnaParishad on 18th October, 2019. The interventional model will be adopted in a total of 450 schools over 6 years in 3 districts of Haryana, i.e., Rohtak, Jhajjar and Faridabad.

This project is named “Parivartan” and under this project Sachhi Saheli will establish a sustainable model of menstrual health knowledge by training mentor teachers.

The model will be adopted in 3 phases in each of the above districts, wherein, 50 schools will be targeted in each phase. The objectives that we wish to achieve through the project are :

  • Sensitizing school teachers and school staff through orientation workshops in order to initiate dialogue and conversations around menstruation and sexual health in the schools.
  • Training mentor teachers on the subject matters of Menstruation, Sexual Health and Sexual Abuse in an intensive 4 day training program so that they may implement the said program in their respective schools through workshops and in the future at a state level.
  • Creating ICE material for effective implementation of the program.
  • Involving parents in the dialogue through their participation in the activities.

We could not be happier as since our inception our dream has been to reach as many people as possible with correct knowledge about menstruation in order to break the silence and stigma around it. We wish to do justice to this proposed project by giving our very best.
