Project BADLAAV, is an upcoming health and sanitation promotion program designed for the urban slum communities of Delhi. The program has 3 major components-

(1) Installation of 18 units (3 sets of 4-seater Toilets+ Bathing cabins and urinal) of Mobile Bio-Toilets (eco-friendly)at a selected urban slum community location in East Delhito ensure disposal of human waste in 100% eco-friendly manner.

(2) To sensitize the beneficiaries on understanding and adopting hygienic behaviours and practices to develop the habit of maintaining personal health & hygiene and to reduce Open Defecation and provide dignity, health and well-being.

(3) To make our youth (School students) leaders change by intrusting & empowering them with right knowledge and resources to spread the word amongst the beneficiaries regarding the significance of health and hygiene and spread the message of ‘No Open defecation’.

The ultimate goal of the project is to improve the present sanitation status of the beneficiaries through installation of Bio-toilets and bathing cabins to provide the private space for bathing and ablution and create awareness among the slum dwellers about its importance.

The program will also try to educate and promote sustainable health habits among the target beneficiaries and prevent problems and issues arising out of unhygienic disposal of human waste (urine and faeces).
