In February 2021, for the second time in a row, Sachhi Saheli got the opportunity to conduct workshops with school students under Balika Munch on ‘Menstrual Health and Hygiene’. This year Sachhi Saheli conducted workshops with students of 602 schools across Delhi. As the first step towards successful execution of workshops at 602 schools, Sachhi Saheli conducted a three-day online training programme to build an army of ‘Menstrual Health Educators’ who can further conduct workshops with students and empower them with correct information. The training Programme was attended by 17 women of different age groups and professions, who showed keen interest and dedication towards the cause. Dr. Surbhi and Ms. Shahnaz Bano were the trainers for the Programme. Aligning with the need of training and values of Sachhi Saheli the activities conducted to train were interactive and engaging.
While listening to the experiences of participants in context of menstruation and puberty changes, Dr. Surbhi and Ms. Shahnaz Bano, the trainers for the Programme also shared theirs. The three days were divided in three segments of attitude change, knowledge part and assessments.
The online workshops were started from 5 February 2021, Through this initiative, Sachhi Saheli sensitized 602 schools and 37,149 children and created a platform where students can talk and discuss about menstruation and adolescent health issues.
