Riots, the deadliest the Indian capital of New Delhi has seen in a decade. The North East Delhi riots, also 2020 Delhi riots, were multiple incidents of religiously driven bloodshed, property destruction, and rioting in North East Delhi, beginning on the night of 23 February 2020 and causing the deaths of 53 people, and many other individuals who were shot, cut with irregular blows or set afire.

The violence broke out in Jaffrabad, Babarpur, Brahmapuri, Gorakh Park, Maujpur, Bhajanpura, Kabir Nagar, Chand Bag, Gokulpuri, Karawal Nagar, Khajoori Khas, and Kardam Puri areas of Delhi.

Sachhi Saheli undertook a donation drive to cater to the menstrual hygiene needs of the riot affected women and girls, where around 2000 sanitary napkins (donated by Carmesi) were distributed among the needy people in the riot affected areas. Food and other relief materials were distributed by the government with the help of resident welfare associations and NGOs.

This had been a small effort in our part to slightly help the ones who needed it at the earliest.
