The Covid-19 pandemic has been difficult for the country’s poor, where people are unable to arrange food, they cannot obviously think about spending money on sanitary napkins as buying sanitary napkins is a luxury and definitely in these tough times they cannot afford to do so. Consequently, women are compromising with their menstrual health and hygiene which may expose them to unhygienic conditions and make them vulnerable to various diseases and menstrual infections.

Keeping this in mind, Sachhi Saheli has designed a ‘Covid kit’- comprising 8-10 sanitary napkins, two under wears, a piece of soap, masks and a paper.

On the 16th of August, Dr. Surbhi Singh and Ms. Ila Srivastava from the team of Sachhi Saheli distributed Covid kits among the underprivileged women of Harijan Basti. The women expressed their gratitude and had happy faces after receiving the Covid kits.
